2013 LOVES Award Winner

I feel so overwhelmed with emotion right now. I am truly blessed and i thank you for given me such a nobel award. My entire life i have overcome obstacles and the past 2 years have been the hardest for me, I have gotten out of an abusive relationship which has left me by myself with my 2 children, i have been going to school where i graduated in may from polcie foundations and am currently enrolled in my bachelors degree of criminal justice. I have no family here and last april we were in a terrible car accident which left me and my son injured. if god has ever tested my faith it was then. thankfully my children and i have overcome our obstacles, every day is a struggle financially and emotionally but we have god in our lives so we will make it. I am truly thankful, you have no idea how much this means to me

History 
This scholarship was created in memory of Pastor Amos Omotoye Aiyenero the father of Rev. Abiola Florence Adegboruwa.  Pastor A. O.  Aiyenero was a minister of God at C.M.S. Anglican Church Ikorodu Road and C.M.S. Church Jemuje Ajegunle Apapa Lagos. He was a faithful servant of God, a dedicated husband and a loving father. He died on November 8, 1990 at the young age of 102. 
  
As a man of integrity who loved people, he always believed that striving for higher education was important. This scholarship provides financial assistance and encouragement to students who demonstrate a pursuit for continuing education and are making a difference in the Christian community.

Results 
Scholarship recipients will be notified by September 15, 2025. Only recipients will be notified. The recipients will be and awarded by October 15, 2025. The Scholarship Committee wishes to thank all applicants for their interest in the ACE scholarship.

History

This award is created in honour of Lanre Olatunji, a very exceptional woman who has dedicated her heart and soul to raising her children. She was born in Lagos Nigeria and came to Canada at the age of 22. After an unfortunate divorce/separation, Lanre found herself on her own working day and night to provide the Canadian lifestyle that every parent dreams for their children. Lanre, despite the many obstacles faced by many single caregivers in our society today was able to raise her two young boys on her own. Those young boys are now adult men and are outstanding citizens that would make any parent proud. Lanre always attributes her ability to make it through the rainy storms to her faith in God and the support of friends.    

This award is in recognition of all the very exceptional single-caregivers (male and female) who do an extraordinary job in raising and guiding their children to grow up to be exceptional individuals of society.

Value

Two awards with a value of $250 CAD each will be awarded to up to two individuals. 

Eligibility and Criteria

All applicants of the Lanre Olatunji Very Exceptional Single-caregiver (LOVES) Award must be a

  1. Canadian Citizen or must permanently reside in Canada. 
  1. Must be between the ages of 16 – 65 and must be the parent or legal guardian of children under the age of 18
    1. Applicant must be a single parent/legal guardian with a life status equivalent to (single, divorced, separated, or widowed). 
    2. Children must be 18 years of age or younger by December 31st of the year in which the award is applied for (award years starts from January 1 to December 31). 
    3. Individuals must have children in their custody. Custody status must be at least 60 % of the time.
  1. Individual applicants can be nominated by a family member, friend, mentor, teacher, pastor, etc, who must have known the nominee for at least 6 months.
  1. Previous winners of the LOVES award are not eligible to apply.
  1. Family members of or those immediately affiliated with Prayer House Ministry International are not eligible to apply.

Application Requirements

All applicants of the LOVES award must complete and submit the following documents:

  1. Prayer House Ministry LOVES Awards Application form
  1. Complete an essay: Details to be posted when available.

Applicants who apply for the LOVES Award must meet the criteria of the award and complete the application requirements in its entirety in order to be considered. It is the responsibility of the applicants to ensure that their application is complete and that all required information, documents, photos and/or letters are enclosed with the application. Failure to provide ALL the required documents and/or information by the designated deadline will result in disqualification.

Results
